We are Andrew and Clare Smith we have been involved with breeding exhibiting dogs since 1997 we are located in the south west durham countryside between bishop auckland and barnard castle our kennels are set in countryside with lots of adventure for our dogs.We have our own private walks Our aim is to continue to improve the breeding at all times we strive to acheive this only using the best bloodlines from england and europe . English Bulldogs have traditionally been recognised as the British Breed for many years and renowned for the bulldog spirit and strenth and is often referred to as the Churchill dog as it was used to portray the courage and spirit of England during the second world war . It goes back in history in early literature in the 13th century there are mentions of the forerunners of this breed and is best known for being used for bull and bear baiting,its stance give the weight and power,its wrinkled face supposed to protect their visin from blood........How ever these barbaric practices were outlawed and the bulldog become bred for his companionship,loyalty .  In 1875 the oldest bulldog club was formed "the bulldog club incorporated" and is still the foremost club today ,with approx 20 more clubs across the country.

                                                                  

 
Bulldogs are quite stubborn , extremely faithfull to their owners look quite fierce and where called upon to protect there loved ones would act accordingly. There are not great barkers and are happy just to be near there loved ones ,there can be lazy and are content to be couch potatos if you let them but to maintain good health , muscle tone and short nails regular exercise on hard surfaces is reccomended , they will live happily with other animals but it is best to be introduced when young to live in harmony , there are possevive over toys , treats and food and even there favourite person.
